Annual Giving
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Individual Giving and the Development team, the Director of Individual Giving is responsible for growing and stewarding giving groups with a cumulative fundraising goal of over $3 million. The program includes all areas of individual giving, including the Art of the Middle East Contemporary, Costume Council, Decorative Arts & Design Council, LENS: Photography Council, Modern and Contemporary Art Council; as well as the acquisition groups Art Here & Now: Studio Forum (AHAN) and the Decorative Arts & Design Acquisition Committee (DA2), and Contemporary@LACMA (C@L) and other groups as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for programming, identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donor groups and programs.
- Evaluates and oversees the work of the Development Associate, who manages activities and members for LACMA’s art councils.
- Key liaison for curators connected to each group, and has oversight of revenue and expenditures for the area.
- Responsible for setting and meeting goals for growing and stewarding groups
- Collaboratively supports prospect managers and other colleagues on donor cultivation and stewardship
- Responsible for overseeing programming, including liaising with curatorial departments, working with Events staff, and overseeing associate
- Provides oversight and guidance to direct report on stewarding and growing groups
- Conducts ongoing budget analyses
- Evaluates current operating model of the restricted giving program
- Provides guidance and oversight for volunteer leadership positions within the programs and assists in stewarding current Chairs and providing assistance in succession planning
- Works closely with all members of the Development team, curators and other programmatic staff at LACMA
- Participates in LACMA donor events, including work on evenings and weekends; some travel required to meet with donors and implement programmatic activity; occasionally participates in LACMA Travel programs
- In collaboration with the Assistant Vice President, analyzes, makes recommendations for, and helps implement improvements to departmental efficiencies, staffing, systems and processes, and administrative procedures; helps oversee training for new staff, including materials and training sessions
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned
Benefits:
- The expected annual salary for this Los Angeles, CA based position is $85,000.00- $92,000.00 subject to change, and the position is eligible for LACMA’s comprehensive benefits package, including pension plan.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Art Administration or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with non-profit fundraising including experience with individual giving, membership and events
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience
- Understanding/knowledge of museums and collection building
