The Cedarburg Art Museum (CAM) celebrates Wisconsin art and artists through exhibitions, programs, and community engagement. Located in Cedarburg’s historic downtown, CAM welcomes more than 11,000 visitors each year and is known for its vibrant events, creative energy, and strong volunteer base.
We are seeking an inspiring Executive Director to lead the Museum into its next chapter of growth. The ideal candidate will bring art museum or nonprofit leadership experience, strategic and financial acumen, and a genuine passion for art and community.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a visible ambassador for the Cedarburg Art Museum and advocate for the arts in Cedarburg and beyond.
- Lead execution of the Museum’s strategic plan and guide organizational growth.
- Oversee operations, exhibitions, events, and facilities with efficiency and creativity.
- Strengthen fundraising and membership development, securing grants, sponsorships, and major gifts.
- Build relationships with donors, artists, volunteers, businesses, and community partners.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture that empowers staff and volunteers.
Qualifications
- Passion for art, creativity, and connecting people through culture.
- Proven success leading an art museum or nonprofit cultural organization.
- Experience in fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement.
- Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Initial Priorities
- Advance the Museum’s strategic plan to be a meaningful art museum in Wisconsin and for long-term sustainability.
- Build relationships and deepen community connections.
- Launch a robust membership and fundraising campaign.
