About the role:
Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Manager of Diversity & Inclusion at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco is responsible for expanding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives currently in place, as well as reimagining employee culture to ensure diversity and inclusion are at the core of our internal staff programs. This position will be a key member of the Human Resources team, and will collaborate with colleagues across the institution to develop a plan to champion diversity, equity and inclusion.
What you’ll do:
• Researches, develops, recommends, and executes creative strategies to foster the organization’s diversity goals, in alignment with the Museums’ Strategic Plan.
• Collaborates with the Recruitment Manager and other members of the HR team to build a recruitment strategy to attract candidates from diverse backgrounds.
• Advocates for and provides oversight of diverse spheres of influence such as staff committees, resource groups, and teammate networks and ensure their strategic impact on the system.
• Collaborates with the staff IDEA Committee to ensure all staff are represented across the entire institution.
• Partners with the Education department to oversee and grow the museum paid internship program.
• Builds a workplace inclusion strategy upon evaluating current status and practices, including a reimagined onboarding program, ongoing staff training, and organizing events that support employee belonging and well-being.
• Works with senior leadership in designing and implementing institution-wide changes to ensure diversity, equity and respect for all teammates.
• Leads strategic, innovative initiatives that institutionalize diversity, inclusion and equity throughout all aspects of organization operations.
• Builds a comprehensive and innovative staff diversity and inclusion training and education program.
• Collaborates with members of leadership to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with community organizations and other entities as appropriate.
• Develops diversity and inclusion metrics and devise ongoing measures that support the evolution of diversity and inclusion as cultural anchors.
• Reviews current practices and policies, assessing and analyzing the extent to which they support or hinder FAMSF’s diversity goals.
• Partners with DEI consultants to support programmatic efforts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field
• Progressive and successful leadership experience in human resources with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
• Advanced knowledge of DEI and cultural competencies strategies
• Proven experience developing, designing and delivering DEI programs and initiatives
• Proven ability to influence and drive change
• Collaboration skills including the ability to integrate and act upon diverse perspectives
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and successfully drive and deliver on key initiatives and projects
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability under changing business needs and priorities
• Knowledge of laws and regulations related to equal employment opportunity and supplier diversity
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships
• Outstanding organizational and analytical skills with a special emphasis on attention to detail
• Exceptional time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Google Suite or related software
