Marketing Assistant
About the Role
The busy and highly visible Office of Communications and Marketing is responsible for providing strategic leadership for external outreach and institutional positioning, with responsibilities that include media relations, brand management, social media, creative design, marketing, publications, the Huntington’s website, the institutional blog, audio and video content, and other outreach platforms and initiatives.
The marketing assistant provides valuable support to a range of marketing and outreach projects. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Assistant maintains budgets and schedules, organizes marketing assets, coordinates photo shoots, and plays a key role in the creation of analytical reports, among other duties. The successful candidate works well as a part of a team, has superb organizational skills using a range of administrative and analytical platforms, is deadline oriented, and can work independently prioritizing multiple tasks.
S/he/they will demonstrate a background of working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, geographic and socioeconomic backgrounds, using a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible approach.
Essential Functions
Works with marketing manager to support the institution’s revenue-generating activities through strategic promotional campaigns.
Creates and manages schedules for advertising, social media, and direct marketing
Works with marketing manager to maintain marketing budgets
Tracks progress of marketing plans, confirming specs and deadlines and gathering and distributing assets to designers, vendors, and others as needed
Gathers marketing data from various sources (Google analytics, sales reports, social media statistics etc.) and assists in creating campaign reports
Manages logistics for marketing photo shoots, collaborating with staff across the organization
Manages assets including marketing photos and collateral (sample ads, etc.)
Assists with cross-promotions with partner institutions
Handles special projects and other duties as assigned
Candidate Requirements and Experience
Experience:
Two or more years of experience doing similar work in an office setting (experience in museum marketing a plus)
BA degree preferred and/or equivalent work experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Outstanding organizational skills
Ability to master new software/platforms quickly
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Detail oriented with a commitment to high quality
Ability to work well as part of a team and with a full range of staff and vendors
Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Computer skills required include a high level of proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Outlook; Photoshop
Experience with Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Facebook Business Manager, and social media analytics (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) preferred
Working Environment:
Indoor office setting
Frequent use of office equipment including computer, keyboard, and mouse
Moderate noise levels

Pay Range: $20-$24/hr. Negotiable and commensurate on experience.
