- Small Business Administration (SBA) video tutorial on Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) application (March 31, 2021) This video includes a thorough overview of eligibility requirements, application process, use of funds, documentation, etc. Important note: all applicants may submit their applications as soon as the portal opens on April 8, and the SBA will process applications in rolling order although funds will be awarded in traches based on percentage of revenue decline. Therefore, regardless of the trache into which applicants may fall, they should submit applications as soon as possible. The application process is complicated and applicants are advised to begin preparing in advance.

- Federal Reserve Board modifies Main Street Lending Program to provide greater access to credit for nonprofit organizations (July 17, 2020) The Federal Reserve Board has approved two new loan options under the Main Street Lending Program to support nonprofit organizations. The terms reflect public feedback,, including from AAMD, to the proposals released for comment on June 15. The minimum employment threshold was lowered from 50 employees to 10, the limit on donation-based funding was eased, and several financial eligibility criteria were adjusted to accommodate a wider range of nonprofit operating models. Under the original proposal, organizations were ineligible if revenue from donations in 2019 exceeded 30% of total revenue; that has been raised to 40% and "donations" now clearly exclude government and foundation grants. However, loans would not be forgivable, and the terms still would be onerous for many nonprofits.

- Comments to the Federal Reserve from AAMD regarding nonprofit access to the Main Street Lending Program (June 22, 2020):AAMD submitted comments to the Federal Reserve regarding its proposal to implement a loan program, authorized by the CARES Act, that would assist "mid-sized" nonprofits with as few as 50 employees and as many as 15,000. Note that this is separate from the PPP program, which is run by the SBA. Chief among our comments:
- do away with the provision limiting eligibility to organizations whose 2019 revenue from donations (individual, corporate, and foundation, and possibly even government grants) amounts to no more than 30% of total;
- make loans forgivable;- allow flexibility with respect to payroll requirements; and
- extend the program to organizations with fewer than 50 employees.
- Urgent Request from the Nonprofit Community forGuidance on the Paycheck Protection Program (National Council of Nonprofits, June 17) AAMD has joined an urgent request for guidance on PPP, signed by 19 national organizations from various subsectors of the nonprofit community, asking the Small Business Administration and Department of Treasury to provide the guidance, answers, and actions on a series of questions that will enable nonprofits to continue serving the communities who rely on us daily.
